The Fastest Boats in the Country

19th Annual Lake Rescue Shootout

The 19TH annual Lake Rescue Shootout was held August 23rd – 26th at the 21 MM of the main channel at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. The fastest boats in the country competed for Top Gun honors in a 1 mile drag race. The event raises thousands of dollars for life saving rescue equipment for the fire districts of the Lake area. There is no race sanctioning body; everyone is welcome, with the event open to any boat 22 feet or longer with a race approved PFD, a helmet and a $50.00 donation. The chief organizer, Jeff Dorhauer, rescue personnel and volunteers prepare the event, lay down the rules, promote it and let the racers do what they do best- race. Out on the water thousands of performance boats with wild graphics and serious horsepower are rafted off to watch the festivities. Spectators at the docks are treated to the newest and hottest offerings from high end manufacturers. Bio-Kleen Products was there to support the event and offer a wide range of marine detailing products and professional technical advice. Sunsation Powerboats was there to show off their latest custom built F-4. McLeod Design Group displayed the new McLeod lV bolster seats with their superior vinyl and safety features. Top Gun honors went to Dave Callen and John Cosker with a top speed of 209 mph in their 50 ft. turbine powered catamaran Miss Longlite. A local crowd favorite David Scott and John Tomlinson caused a buzz with the new Budweiser Select 50 ft. carbon fiber Mystic powerboat with 1550 hp Sterling engines. Bio-Kleen Products, Inc. was proud to help sponsor the following Shootout race competitors: D&M Motorsports from Missouri in a 39 ft. MTI with twin Mercury 525 hp EFI’s owned and raced by Dennis & Marcie Hillhouse Mike’s Thunder Marine from Chicago in a 35 ft. Fountain with twin 621 hp engines owned and raced by Mike Lovergine & JoAnn Buchanan A special thank you to Patti and Danny Jackson for displaying their impressive 38 ft. Sonic with 500 EFI / prochargers beautifully detailed with Bio-Kleen Marine & RV Products.
