The show took place in Chicago on January
16th - 20th with chilling temperatures below
zero. The cold didn't keep outdoor enthusiasts
away from the hundreds of booths filled with 600
boats, 200 R.V.'s, travel destinations, marine
equipment, and fishing tackle. Thousands of
people showed up dreaming of a summer day aboard
a boat or camping lakeside in a Recreational
Vehicle. Nothing compares to the freedom to
travel whenever the mood strikes you, drop
anchor, build a cozy campfire and enjoy the
sunset. After a long winter season
anticipation builds for the onset of boating and
camping season. Spring fever leaves us itching
to cleanup the boat or RV and head out. But
before we can get the boat wet or park the RV at
our favorite campsite we have to make sure that
everything is safe, reliable and looking good.
It is important to recognize that preparation is
necessary to protect not only your investment
but also the waters where we boat and camp.
Maintenance can seriously impact water quality
and aquatic ecosystems. Much of that impact can
be mitigated by use of biodegradable, safe,
non-toxic cleaners.
In the marine environment hulls of boats are
vulnerable to fouling - Algae, slime growth and
mussels accumulate on the bottoms. Fouling
growth can increase the roughness on the hull
and that increases the drag, decreases
maneuverability, and eventually damages the
vessel. The exterior surface of a RV also may be
dull or have yellow & black stains. For top
performance and appearance of these
surfaces we recommend Bio-Kleen Hull &
Fiberglass Cleaner. Follow-up with Bio-Kleen
Polish & Sealant to maintain a hard slick finish
that will protect against growth & stains. For
the interior our Amazing Cleaner and Amazing
Armor do an outstanding job on vinyl, fabrics
and carpet. These Non-aerosol products do not
release harmful chemicals into the air or water.
The Great Lakes and inland waterways around the
Chicago area represent the largest boating
market in the country. Over one-third of all
U.S. boating occurs on the Great Lakes with an
estimated 4.5 million registered U.S. boaters
and 1.5 Canadian boaters. With this much
activity, growing concerns for the health of our
lakes has increased. This season, become a
guardian by taking measures to ensure that you
are doing your part to protect the waters and
the pastimes you love. Even something as simple
as using environmentally friendly products can
help, improve your family's health and safety,
and ensure healthy waters for the recreational
outdoorsman of the future.
